ATTENTION: NEWS UPDATE

Major General John Bates, Julius Bates and Elizabeth Bates Jackson father was James Bates.  This information was discovered by Penny Bailey Gunter the 7th generation of Major General John Bates through Nancy Bates Reynolds.  Penny found this information December 2011 and is working on getting proven documentation to this information.  Penny requested that no documentation be posted to preserve the integrity of the research of the Bates Family Members.   I congratulate Penny for her discovery.  We were going to disclose this information at the John Bates Dedication of his service in 1812 at 2 p.m. on April 21st but was caught off guard when it was posted prematurely by someone else.  It is a great honor for Penny to share this information when she is ready and we all thank her for research. 

More information will be updated at a later time but let me say this much about the information, This James Bates is not and let me repeat not JAMES AUTHUR BATES AND SUSANNAH FLEMINGS.  It also has nothing to do with "BLOODY".  It is very interesting as I am being kept as a keeper of mouth shut for the time being.  I am so proud of Penny and I will keep her information private until she tells me to release it.
