   Samuel B. Windham                

                Samuel B. Windham, which we will refer to as our first generation was born around 1769 in the State of Virginia.  In 1792  Samuel married Miss Leah Blake in Fairfield County. South Carolina.

  Leah was born in 1773 to William and Phanuel Ann Hornsby.  It was in South Carolina their first child was born.  Between the year 1800 and 1802 they moved to Wilcox County, Alabama. Records indicate that Samuel purchased land in Wilcox, Alabama in 1819. Samuel farmed and was slave owner. Nine children were born to Leah & Samuel B. Windham

It is believed that Samuel died first, sometime after 1850. He was buried in Scotts County, Mississippi. Last record of Leah was a slave sale of two slaves to her son Andrew in 1862.
