I was going over my cemetery notes and now I wonder if the Church of
England cemetery in Harrietsfield is the Marriett cemetery on Whitehead
Road. Because there was a schoolhouse on the property where those old mounds
are, I get the feeling the graves there are from back before the 1900s,
even though they would be Church of England graves too. The 1931 burial
for William Marriett would be too late for that (this) burial ground,
and I see a headstone in the Whitehead Road cemetery for William
T. Marriett, 1879-1931.
The death information you found on him says he was 50 years old in
1931, which fits. I think that may be him. In the 1881 census this fellow
was one year old, so chances are his gravestone dates are correct. |
