1932
STEPHEN RICHARD KEDDY - The death of Stephen Keddy occured at his home here this morning after a lingering illness, aged eight-three.  He was born in Martin's River and was the son of the late Francis Keddy.  He was twice married, his first wife having been Sophia Zwicker, of Oakland by whom he had ten children, seven of whom survive.  His second wife who survives him, was Maud Reeves of New Ross.  By this union there are six children, all of whom survive him, two sisters and one brother.  The funeral will take place from his late residence.  The deceased was a member of the Church of England.


1963
MRS. EMMA KEDDY - There passed away on April 5th, 1963,  Mrs. Emma Keddy, 100 years old, resident of Martin's River.  This grand old lady known to her friends as Auntie Emm, celebrated her 100th birthday in February.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elkanah Silver, of Martin's River.  A native of Martin's River, Mrs. Keddy was the widow of Edmond Keddy.  Surviving are a daughter, Hilda ( Mrs. Allen Boehner ), Martin's River and a son Dennis, with whom she lived for the past five years.  She was predecesased by her husband; one daugher Ella; two sons Percy and Otto.  Martin's River- Funeral service for 100 year old Mrs. Emma Keddy was held from St. Martin's Church Tuesday at 2 o'clock with Rev. M.J. Findley officiating.  Interment was in St. Martin's cemetery.

1965
MRS. ARCHIE KEDDY, 41, Martin's River, died in Fisherman's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg on January 14, 1965.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. G.  Byron Crawford, Minto N.B.  Surviving besides her husband, are two sons, John and Danny ; two daughters, Judy and Linda; four sisters, Olive (Mrs. Douglas Hubley) Bridgewater; Marvell (Mrs. Hartley Long) Mill Stream, N.B.; Mavis (Mrs. Donald Morrison) Sydney; Goldie - Los Angeles; one brother, Harvey, New Westminster, B.C.  Funeral service will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at St. Martin's Anglican Church.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

1966
JAMES STEPHEN KEDDY, 83, of Yarmouth died at home Wednesday, March 29, 1966.  He was a member of Temple United Baptist Church and the IOOF.  Son of the late Stephen Keddy, he is survived by two sons (Sandy Anderson) and Bus (Mather), both of Yarmouth; one daughter Grace (Mrs. Ernest Muise), Yarmouth; one half brother, Robert Keddy, Mahone Bay; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Funeral service was at Sweeny's Funeral Home Saturday with Rev. G. E. Miller officiating.  Interment was in the Chebogue Cemetery.

1969
DENNIS MOYLE KEDDY, 72, of Martin's River, died Tuesday, February 04, 1969 at Fisherman's Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg.  He is survived by his wife, Fedora; two sons, Marshall and Edwin, at home; one daughter, Pearl ( Mrs. Arthur Heisler ), Indian Point.  The body is at the Mahone Bay Funeral Home.  Funeral arrangements are not complete.



1975
NASON SAMUEL KEDDY, 88, died Sunday, April 27, 1975 at Mahone Nursing Home.  He was a retired carpenter.  Surviving are one son, Archie, and a sister, Maude, both at Martin's River; two brothers, Ken, Halifax, and Clarey, Head's Corner, Lunenburg County; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife, the former Leana Reids; two sisters and four brothers.  The body is at the Mahone Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from St. Martin's Anglican Church, Martin's River, Rev. Frederick Tassinari will officiate with burial in the St. Martin's cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to charity.

EMERSON A. KEDDY, 81, died Friday, October 24, 1975 and was buried in the St. Martin's Church cemetery in Martin's River, Monday.  Born in Martin's River, he was the son of the late William George and Sarah Jane (Hiltz) Keddy.  He is survived by his wife, Florence; a son, Wesley, at home; one daughter, Pauline ( Mrs. Wallace Langille), Halifax; one brother Glen, in the United States; and three grandchildren.  He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.


1980
GRANVILLE MORTON KEDDY, 72, of 27 Prospect Street, Kentville died Wednesday, February 06, 1980 at the Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital.  Born in Martin's Point, Lunenburg County, he was the son of the late Stephen and Ella (Reeves) Keddy.  He is survived by his wife the former Lois Johnson; two daughters, Marilyn (Mrs. Fred Ansems), Habitant; Mrs. Carolyn Best, Kentville; three brothers, Earl, North Alton; Ralph, Brickton; Frank, Ottawa; and four grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a sister and a brother.  The body is at the W. C. Hiltz Funeral Home, Kentville.  Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Kentville, Rev. David Reid offficiating.  Burial will be at the Elm Grove Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity.

MRS. EVA ETTA BELLE FAEDER, 77, of Chester, died Friday, March 07, 1980 at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Born in Martin's River, she was the former Eva Etta Keddy, a daughter of the late Joseph and Nora (Reeves) Keddy.  She is survived by two sons, Louis and Theodore, both of Chester; a sister, Winnie (Mrs. Borden Tingley) Halifax; three brothers, Emmet, New Ross; Roy, Liverpool; Frank, Jackson's Point, Ont.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  She was predeceased by her husband, Jack; two sons, Lawrence and James; a daughter, Jean; a brother, Howard.  The body is at Davis Funeral Home, Chester, Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Rev. Edward Tuck officiating.  Burial will be in Bayview Cemetery.


1981
BLANCHE EDNA GATES, 85, formerly of Blandford, died Tuesday Feb. 18, 1981 in Shorham Village, Chester.  Born in Martin's River, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Edvina (Meisner) Keddy.  She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frances McInnis, Northwest Cove, and Muriel (Mrs. Paul Publicover), Blandford; four sons, Ellis, Ivan, Percey and Ernie, all of Blandford; 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Schnare; her second husband, Osborne Gates; a daughter Dorothy, and three sons, Harvey, Basil and Douglas.  The body will be in Ronald A. Walker's Funeral Home, Hubbards, after 2 p.m. today. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Barnabas Church, Blandford, with burial in church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of the St. Barnabas Church.

CLARENCE BURTON KEDDY, 87, of Hebbs Cross, Lunenburg County, died Monday May 24, 1982 at the Dawson Memorial Hospital, Bridgewater.  Born in Martin's River, he was a son of the late Matthew and Annetta (Hiltz) Keddy.  He was a carpenter and was employed for a number of years with Nauss Brothers Ltd., Bridgewater.  He is survived by two sons, Burton, Hebbs Cross; Wayne, Baker Settlement; two daughters, Irene (Mrs. A. P. Bowman), Colburg, Ont.; Marion (Mrs. Elmer Conrad), Lower Branch; a sister Maude Keddy, Mahone Bay; a brother Kenneth, Halifax; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife the former Hilda Kaulback, and five brothers Natham, Charles, Harold, Arthur, and Stanley and two sisters Mrs. Gladys Whynot and Mrs. Mary Meisner.  The body is at the Wamback Memorial Chapel, Bridgewater.  Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in St. James Anglican Church, Conquerall Mills, Rev. Eric Ingraham officiating with burial at Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Conquerall Mills or the Hebbs Cross Fire Department.  Hymns sung were Nearer My God to Thee, The Lord is My Shepherd.  Mrs Esther Cross was organist.  Pallbearers were Boyd Zwicker, Hugh Zwicker, Ralph Hebb, Carl Hebb, Carl Sarty and Douglas Stewart.

1984
MRS. WINNIE EVELINE TINGLEY - 80, 2836 Connolly Street, Halifax, formerly of Martin's River, died Friday, September 8 in the Halifax Infirmary.  Born in Martin's Rivers, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Nora (Reeves) Keddy.  She is survived by four sons, Richard, Wilmot; Liewellyn, Moncton; Rev. Terry, Bayside; Darrell, Halifax; two daughters, Mrs Ruth Poirier, Comox, B.C.; Mrs. Betty-Lou Faulkner, Halifax, three brothers, Roy, Liverpool; Frank, Halifax; Emmett, New Ross; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Borden; a sister, Eva and two brothers, Howard and Marshall. The body will be in J. Albert Walker Memorial Chapel, Sunday at 2 p.m. a family memorial service will be Monday in the chapel at 10:15 a.m., Rev. Phillip DeLong officiating, with burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Sharing Way, care of Bayside United Baptish Church, Bayside, Halifax County.


1985
ARTHUR ROBERT HEISLER, 69, Indian Point, passed away at Camp Hill Hospital on Monday, Feb.11,1985. Born in Indian Point, he was a son of the late Harvey and Lottie (Langille) Heisler. He was a member of Union Church, Indian Point. He served overseas in the Royal Canadian Navy and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 49, Mahone Bay. He retired in 1975 from H.M.C. dockyard. He is survived by his wife, the former Pearl Keddy; three sisters, Frances (Mrs. Maurice Covey), Lunenburg; Dorothy (Mrs. Grant Connolly), Dartmouth; Betty (Mrs. Sidney Pugh), Wilmot. He was predeceased by a sister Grace (Mrs. Peter Gill), Dartmouth. The body rested in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. Memorial service was held on Wednesday evening, Feb.13, 1985 by Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 49. Funeral service was held on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 14, 1985 in the Union Church, Indian Point at 2 p.m., with Rev. Ellis Boyd officiating. Burial in Indian Point Park Cemetery. Hymns sung were "Amazing Grace", and "The Lord's My Shepherd." Pallbearers were Legion members Philip Smeltzer, Enos Nauss, Rodney Hirtle, John Gascoigne, Robert Whynot, Willis Williams.

WARREN H. HILTZ - Martin's River, Lunenburg County- Warren H Hiltz, 75, Martin's River, died Friday at home.  Born in Martin's River, he was a son of the late Richard and Alma (Spidle) Hiltz.  Surviving are his wife, the former Lillas Wamboldt; five sons, Eric, Mahone Bay; Theodore, Don Mills; David, Oak Hill; Wayne, Martin's Point; Ervin and Garnet, both of Martin's River; a brother Victor, Chester, and 11 grandchildren.  He was predeceased by four sisters, Hattie, Edna, Leone, and Ella; five brothers, Cecil, Kenneth, Roy, Cyril, and Alton.  The body is in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay.  Funeral will be 2 pm Tuesday in St Martin's Anglican Church, Martin's River, Rev E B N Cochran officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Donations may be made to Nova Scotia Heart Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society. MARSHALL CURRIE KEDDY, 61, of Martin's River, passed away Friday, February 14, 1986 in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.  Born at Martin's River, he was a son of the late Dennis and Dora (Zinck) Keddy.  He is survived by a sister, Pearl (Mrs. Arthur Heisler), Indian Point, and a brother, Edwin, Martin's River.  The body rested at the Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay.  Funeral service was held Feb. 17, 1986 at 2 p.m. from St. martin's Anglican Church, Martin's River, with Rev. Thom Kerr and Asst. David Coffin officiating.  Interment was in the family lot in St. Martin's Cemetery, Martin's River.  Pallbearers were Edgar langille, Karl Langille, Gerald Langille, Alex Thorpe, Donald Fickes, and Raymond Eisnor.  Floral tributs: Casket spray - sister Pearl; brother Edwin...Arrangements - Uncle Currie Zinck; Uncle Harris Zinck; cousin Pearl Murphy.

ROY WILLOUGHBY KEDDY - 83, Greenfield, died Tuesday, October 14, 1987 in Liverpool.  Born in Martin's River, Lunenburg County, he was a son of the late Joseph and Nora Keddy.  He was a carpenter in Liverpool for many years.  He is survived by two sons, Brian, David, both of Dartmouth; two brothers, Frank, Halifax; Emmett, New Ross; two stepsons, Preston Wolfe and Michael Wolfe, both in Ontario; a stepdaughter, Betty (Wolfe) Cox, Lower Sackville; four grandchildren; a great grandchild.  He was predeceased by his wife, the former Phyllis Viola Wolfe, a son, Gerald; a brother, Howard; two sisters, Eva and Winnie.  The body is in Chandlers Funeral Home, Liverpool, where funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday.  Rev. Edward Powell officiating.  Burial well be in Zion United Church Cemetery, Liverpool.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

MAUDE EISNOR, – 81, Shoreham Nursing Home, Chester, died Wednesday in the nursing home. Born in Clearland, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Tomothy and Maggie (Whynacht) Mader.  She is survived by a daughter, Shirley (Mrs. Sydney Barkhouse), Western Shore; a sister, Mrs. Emily Ernst, Blockhouse; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald; a sister; a brother. The body is in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. Funeral will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, St. Mark's Anglican Church, Martin's Point, Rev. Thomas Kerr officiating. Buriel in Western Shore Cemetery.
