KANE, Gerald Henry - 80, Lower Sackville, died February
17, 1996, in Victoria General Hospital. Born in Ingramport, he was a son
of the late Howard and Jessie (Corkum) Kane. He lived for several years
in Bedford before moving to Nine Mile River, where he resided for 30 years.
He managed Kane's Fina Station with his wife, and was a member of Nine
Mile River United Church for many years and Elmsdale Masonic Lodge. Surviving
are daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Arthur Smith), Truro; Maxine (Mrs. Robert
Price), Lower Sackville; sister, Isabel (Mrs. Russell MacDonald), Pictou;
13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife,
the former Marguerite Hefler; daughter, Eileen Patton; sisters, Daisy Kane,
Margaret Brown. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic
Funeral Home, Lower Sackville. Graveside service 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sackville
United Baptist Church Cemetery, Rev. Rick Marsters officiating. Donations
to Canadian Cancer Society.
RAYNER, Patricia Janet - 50, Sackville, died January
1, 1996, in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter
of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Fougere) Myatt. Surviving are her husand,
Raymond; sons, John, Alberta; Brian, Sackville; brothers, George, Sackville;
Ivan, Waverley; Joe, Dartmouth; sister, Linda (Mrs. Reg Bowers), Elmsdale.
She was predeceased by sister, Chris Young; brother, Brian. Visitation
2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in T.K. Barnard Funeral Home, 527 Sackville Dr., Lower
Sackville. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sackville United Baptist Church,
Rev. Rick Marsters officiating. Burial in Sackville United Baptist Church
cemetery.
WARD, Edna Mae - 82, Scotia Nursing Home, Halifax,
formerly of Sackville, died March 8, 1993, in the home. Born in Halifax,
she was a daughter of the late Harry and Stella (Rayner) Blakney. She is
survived by five sons, Edward, Beaverbank; Ralph, Sackville; William, Wyses
Corner; Arthur, Sarnia, Ont.; Paul, Whitby, Ont.; two daughters, Phyllis
(Mrs. William Ellis), Beaverbank; Merrian (Mrs. Roy Hawley), Port Perry,
Ont.; sister, Marjorie Grove; 31 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Edward;
three infant sons; two infant daughters; six brothers, Vilroy, Raymond,
Earl, Elmer, Ronald, Gordon; sister, Lulu. The body is in T.K. Barnard
Funeral Home, Sackville, visiting 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Sackville United Baptist Church, Rev.
Mel Scott officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery. Donations may
be made to Sackville United Baptist Church or Canadian Diabetes Association.
