John and Elizabeth, along with 7 children, came to the United States in 1842 from England. (see ship manifest)  The 1950 census for Middleville, New York shows only Elizabeth(50), Thomas(13), and Harriet(2) Brooks living with a Henry Ludrem? (50), Samual Walker (26), and Ann Walker (23, probally Elizabeth's daughter); Samual and Ann's children, John(4), Ellen(2), Hannah(8ms), and a George Ludrem? (could be Luddume, Ludlure, Ludlune)(21).  I can only assume John died after Harriet was born, abt 1848, and Elizabeth went to live with, who I presume is her daughter, Ann.  I have no idea where the other children are, the probally are off on their own.  Thomas Brooks is found again in 1860, living in Kent county, Michigan.  Elizabeth may have stayed in New York, where her other children probally layed roots, and died there.  But I have nothing confiming that.
