GILLEN, Mary Jane  Mary Jane "Janey" Gillen, age 88, of Lyons, Ohio, entered into eternal rest, Friday morning, December 7, 2007, at the Fulton Manor in Wauseon, Ohio. She had been in failing health since suffering a stroke in June of 2005. Mary Jane was born August 7, 1919, to the late John and Edith (Northcott) Allen in rural Delta, Ohio. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1937 and attended many of her class reunions throughout the years. She married Vincent M. Gillen on October 2, 1937, at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Assumption. Mary. Jane was very active in the community. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Parish and its Altar and Rosary society. She also was a member of Lyons Live and Learn Club, served as 4-H advisor for 21 years and helped start the first club in Assumption, Ohio. She will be remembered for all the wedding and graduation cakes she made for family and friends for over 20 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Vincent; daughters, Virginia (Alan) Schaffner of Fayette, OH and Marilyn (Woody) Blaylock of Lakeland, FL; son, Thomas (Concha) Gillen of Miami, FL; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grand-children and 2 great-great-grand-children. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her brothers, Burt Allen and Ralph Allen and sisters, Ernesta Borde and Margaret Girdham. Friends and family may visit Saturday, December 15th from 12 (noon) to 2:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora, Ohio, where the funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Fr. Dennis Metzger will officiate. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Fulton Manor's activity center, 723 S. Shoop Ave., Wauseon, OH 43567.
