James Vincent HARRIS


     James V. Harris, 65, of Wauseon passed away Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the former Miller Super Value in Wauseon for 19 years and Ricks Grocery Store in Morenci, MI, for 9 years.

     Mr. Harris was born in Fulton County, Ohio, on April 23, 1940, the son of the late Ralph "Ned" and the late Helen (Harmon) Harris. On June 21, 1964, he married Nancy Miller, she survives. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Wauseon. As a young man, Mr. Harris was active in Boy Scouts having earned his God and Country award. He also enjoyed gardening, playing cards and square dancing.

     Surviving besides his wife are three brothers, Earl (Helen) Harris of Delta, Herb (Elinor Harris of Chagrin Falls, OH, Richard (Margaret) Harris of Pompano Beach, FL; sister, Pat (Jim) Harger of Lyons, OH; 23 nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Florence (Don) Schroeder of Wauseon and brother-in-law, Ken Bell of Wauseon.

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2006, at the First Christian Church in Wauseon with Pastor Mitch Maxted officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church. www.grisierfh.com

James was the grandson of William Harmon (1859 - 1940) & Martha Melissa Mizer (1874 - 1923).
