___________ HARRY ALBERT SHAFER ___________ Not beyond the tomb but here and now. On earth, some glimpse is given of the joys which Wait us through the gates of Heaven." After a brief illness, due to injuries received in an auto accident, Harry Albert Shafer, passed from this life to the realms of light. He realized the end was near and was satisfied to leave this life. Few young men make as close a companion and confident of their mother. To her he confided the deepest desires and longings of his heart. Together they lifted their hearts in prayer while Harry committed himself to the will of God. As the end drew near he said: "Mother you have gone with me as far as you can go." Harry was the second born of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Shaffer. He was born June 11, 1891 and died December 25, 1918, at the age of 27 years , 6 months and 14 days. Having lived here all his life, he was well known, throughout his community, and being of a kind warm-hearted nature, he held a place deep in the hearts of many, many friends young and old. He is survived by his father and mother and brother, Hollis, now in Germany with his company. Wherefore should I make my moan, Now our precious boy is dead? He to rest is early gone, He to paradise is fled. I shall go to him, but he Never shall return to me. God forbids his longer stay God recalls his precious load. He hath taken him away from my bosom to his own. Surely what he wills is best; Happy in his will I rest. Faith cries out, "It is the Lord," Let him do what seems him good. Be thy holy name adored, Take thy gift awhile bestowed. Take my son, no longer mine: Thine he is, forever thine. _______ CARD OF THANKS Mr. and Mrs. P. J.
