I found him in the 1900 Indiana census,living in Alexandria, IN (Madison Co.) The census was taken on June 14,1900, so they (John DAVIS & Lucy HAMMOND)were married sometime between Jan. and Jun. 24 of 1900. John's middle initial is M which possibly stands for "Morgan" and he was born in April of 1878 It also says that his mother and father were both born in Indiana. Lucy was born in May of 1880 and also shows both her parents and her were born in Indiana. John & Lucy DAVIS lived on Harrison Street, according to the census. John died Jan 1, in Chicago and was brought to Delaware County,Muncie, Indiana and buried Jan 5,1945 in Beech Grove Cemetery.
