Notes for Caleb North:
With most of his children he landed at Philadelphia, July 29, 1729, and in 1734 bought sixty-nine acres
of land from the Penn family at Gilbert Manor, Pa.

Most of the present Norths of Pennsylvania are descended from this branch, as are also many throughout Ohio, Indiana and the middle west. Col. Caleb North, of Revolutionary fame, was the son of Roger North. Another line1 went into Virginia and during the Civil War made fine records on the Confederate side.

Notes for Mary L LeBaron:
Although i have no documented proof on William LeBaron being the father of Mary LeBaron, i believe
i have collected enough evidence to prove that he is:

(1). Mary was born in 1819 in Harrisburg, Pa which was the residence of William at that time.

(2). According to the Warners history of Beaver Co Pa, Mary LeBaron was the daughter of William LeBaron, the bridge builder who built The big beaver bridge which was chartered in 1814.

(3). County and Family Histories: Pennsylvania, 1740-1900 Family Archive CD # 193 shows William LeBaron was also awarded contracts to build bridges, three of them being in Beaver County, which also was the county Mary lived and died in.

(4). William, one of Harrisburg's first and most enterprising men, purchased, improved and resided there some years. He built the first steam grist mill and warehouse, &c., in the borough. He was unfortunate,
however, in business, and removed to Pittsburgh where he died)

I think that means he rebuilt the first steam grist mill, and not built !!!!

Evidently the Mill was sold to William and Sarah LeBaron on December 26, 1821 by Henry and Mary Musser. It was not in their possession for long, because it was sold two or three more times before April 19, 1833 , from what i can see. So, sometime between December 26, 1821 - April 19, 1833 is when he
removed to Allegheny Co. This could possibly be the reason why Mary is living in Allegheny County in 1840.

Notes for Socrates Adams Reno:
Socrates Reno became captain of riverboats, and later owned the boat St. Louis which ran between Pittsburgh and St. Louis. The1850 census has him living in Rochester Borough, Beaver Co., PA. His boat was enlisted by the Union during the Civil War, and he was present at the Battle of Pittsburg Landing. After the civil war he sold the boat and began a mercantile business in Rochester, where he ran a furniture store on Madison Street. He remained in this business until his death, at which time his son Joseph I. Reno worked with him under the firm name of S. A. Reno and Son. In 1870 he was in the census for Beaver Co. p. 317 age 50, steamboat pilot, Cynthia 44, Annie O. 20, Caroline 19, Ellen 16, Mary 15, Florence 12, and Joseph 9.

Notes for Joseph Irvin Reno:
In 1874 he started the first paper route in Monaca (then Phillipsburg), delivering the Pittsburgh evening papers. He was willed the Madison Street furniture business by his father in 1890. Then he helped with "the horses and wagon." About 1875 he sold his business to his nephew. In the early 1940s, he was living in retirement at Buckeye Lake, Ohio.

At 11:15 a.m. on August 3,1917 Addah Reno Brotherton died at the age of 46 years and 26 days, from Starvation, contibuted by a 2 year battle with Melancholia. I looked this word because i was not sure what Melancholia was. I was horrified when i read this: : a mental condition characterized by extreme depression, bodily complaints, and often hallucinations and delusions; especially : a manic-depressive psychosis. according to her death records she starved herself to death for 21 days..God bless you and may you rest in peace gg-grandmother Addah!!!!!

Talked to Gayle Brotherton tonite,I lost her daughters email,had to call and ask her to re-send her address.She and I were talking about the good old days and how we remembered grandma and grandpa,I remembered how he dearly loved the Reds and the ponies,I think he` the one that taught dad how to handicap them,and dad taught me.Dad told me that grandpa Brotherton made the best bathtub gin in or around Cincy.The band leaders of the time,that played there,would come and buy gin from our sweet little grandfather,who weighed about 120` soaking wet.Dad loved the Brotherton`,until he married Maryellen,he and i would go to Reading,and spend a week or so with Addah and George,when they lived on Church Street.We went to the races,the old Coney Island and the zoo.
