Notes for WILLIAM DRENNING: NOTE: FROM CARSON BROWN: The below data was obtained from two sources: (1) an e-mail from Bob Rose (19803 N. 129th Drive, Sun City West, Arizona 85375-3229 [[email protected]] dated April 17, 1998 and (2) "Bedford County, Pennsylvania Archives" Vol 7, pp. 3-9. The birth dates of the children is suspect (in my opinion) since it shows them being born over a 55 year period which while possible is probably unlikely; either the birth dates are in error or not all of these children belong to William and Vera. I don't know the answer. If you have any other information or thoughts, I would be interested in hearing them.

Children of ANNA MCCORMICK and ROBERT MCCORMICK are:
 i. JOHN6 MCCORMICK, b. April 24, 1805, Ohio; d. January 22, 1861; m. DIANNA BALDWIN, January 31, 1847, Grant Co, Indiana. Notes for JOHN MCCORMICK:
This family is listed in Fairmount Twp in the 1850 and 1860 censuses. In 1870, Diana is listed as being head of the family; John must have died between 1860 and 1870. Marriage records of Grant Co give Dianna’s surname as Lee. Lineage charts give her name as Baldwin (Lee), implying that she had been married previously to someone named ______ Lee. There are four or five children listed in the 1850 census that were born before John McCormick and Dianna Baldwin were married. Did these children belong to John McCormick, by a previous marriage, or did they belong to Dianna Baldwin by a previous marriage? My guess is that they belonged to Dianna by a previous marriage. My reason is that there are no marriage records listed under McCormick for the other children. A biography is given in the attached data regarding this family; mostly in regards to a son, Sylvester. According to this biography John McCormick was the father six children; however, I seem to have identified nine children.

ii. JACOB MCCORMICK, b. January 11, 1812, Indiana; d. February 15, 1872, Grant Co, IN; buried in Marion I.O.O.F cemetery; m. HANNAH HIATT, August 19, 1830, Delaware Co, IN. Notes for JACOB MCCORMICK:
The marriage records of Delaware Co, IN show that Jacob McCormack married Hannah Hiatt (Bk C-1, page 22) on 19 Aug, 1830. This family is listed in the 1850 and 1860 censuses of Mill Township of Grant Co, IN. In 1870, the family is also listed in Mill Township; Jacob is not listed; he probably died between 1860 and 1870. I question the death date of Jacob McCormick, contained in the cemetery records of Appendix 1. He is not listed in the 1870 census, however Hannah is listed. Will or Estate Settlement records of Grant Co may help settle the question. I also question the birth places of both Jacob and Hannah; 1810 and 1812 are early to be born in Indiana.

iii. CATHERINE MCCORMICK, b. January 04, 1816, Indiana; d. December 04, 1889, Grant Co, Indiana; m. JOSEPH JONES, November 26, 1839, Grant Co, Indiana. Notes for JOSEPH JONES:
Some biographical information on this family is presented in the attached biographies. According to the biographical data, Joseph and Catherine spent their lives as farmers in Grant Co, IN. They were members of the Methodist Episcopal church.

In the 1850 census, the family is listed in Union Township, Grant Co, IN. In the 1870 census, Catherine is listed as head of the household, two sons are living at home. Two married children are also living "next door". The other son (George) has died; I don't know where his wife (George’s) is.

 iv. ENOS MCCORMICK, b. May 25, 1818, Ohio; d. January 24, 1870; m. SARAH A. ?. Notes for ENOS MCCORMICK:
They are living with John and Anna Fankboner in the 1850 census for Union Twp, Grant Co, IN.

 v. JANE MCCORMICK, b. March 16, 1824; d. November 12, 1907, Lafontaine, Grant Co, Indiana (Gas City cemetery); m. WILLIAM ROUSH, March 25, 1841, Grant Co, Indiana. Notes for WILLIAM ROUSH:
Biographical information on this family is presented in the attached biography of Joel Duling. According to this biography, this family owned 200 acres of land in Jefferson township and spent their lives farming on this land. They were Presbyterians. The biographical data says that they had thirteen children; including one pair of twins, then lists six who "grew to maturity".

This family is listed in the census of 1860 for Mill Township, Grant Co, IN. Ten children are listed in this census. The family is also listed in Mill Twp in 1870 and 1880 censuses.

 vi. LEWIS MCCORMICK, b. December 18, 1826, Grant Co, Indiana; d. April 18, 1851; m. REBECCA TURNER, April 18, 1851.
vii. CLARISSA MCCORMICK, b. March 12, 1832, Grant Co, Indiana; d. June 03, 1900, Mill Twp, Grant Co, Indiana; m. (1) GEORGE W. HORNER; m. (2) JOHN JR. HORNER, November 12. Notes for JOHN JR. HORNER:
Some biographical information on this family is given in the attached data. Information in the biographies states that John Horner, Jr. settled in Mill Twp, Grant Co, IN. He was killed in an accident on 8 Oct, 1870 by the fall of a tree.

Clarissa was married a second time - to George Horner (I assume George was a brother to John, Jr.) They spent the remainder of their lives in Mill Township, Grant Co.

The family of John and Clarissa Horner is listed in the 1860 census of Fairmount Twp, Grant Co. Two children are listed: Lacy (m)(b ca 1858, IN) and Ashton (born 1860, IN). In 1880, the family is still residing in Fairmount Twp. Children listed in the census are: Leroy (b ca 1858, IN); Ashton (b ca 1861, IN); Lenora (b ca 1863, IN); Anna (b ca 1866, IN) and Ulysus (b ca 1867, IN). The 1880 census shows that John had apparently died and children listed are: Leroy (b ca 1859, Grant Co, IN)(This is probably "Lacy" from the 1860 census.); Ashton (b ca 1860, IN); Lejuna (b ca 1864, IN); Annie (b ca 1866, IN); Ulysus (b ca 1867, IN). Clarissa is listed in the 1900 census for Fairmount Twp, Grant Co as living with her son, Ulysses. The cemetery records of Appendix 1 state that Clarissa died on 6 Jan, 1894; however, she is listed in the 1900 census, and the attached obituary data indicated that she died in Jun, 1901.
