James Adney Washburn was the grandfather of Fred Washburn (through Benjamin Washburn). Fred’s mother, herself was the great grand daughter of Gabriel Washburn of Rutherford, NC. Fred married Rose Miller, a distant cousin and grand daughter of Mary Arvizene Washburn and William Bunk Miller. Mary, of course, was Benjamin’s sister and James Adney’s daughter.
