A call from Tony Keefer of Pa., stated that Susan Rebecca (Santaymier) Scott was a widow with 3 children when she married William Henry Jackson Goswick, Sr.  Tony Keefer also stated that one of the descendants of William Henry Jackson Goswick that lived in Canada had a old letter written by Samuel Daniel Goswick of Texas to his brother Jackson Goswick in Pa., and stating only the three of them were left: Samuel Daniel, Jackson, and Moses Monroe Goswick.

Addition records from Texas, state that Samuel Daniel Goswick visited his brother "Jackson" Goswick in Pa. in the early 1900's.

Annie Workman was first married to Thomas Goswick and had one child by him "Ralph".  Thomas was killed in a coal mine accident before 1895 when his widow re-married Tom's younger brother "Henry Jackson Goswick",jr..  From the obituary notice of Ralph R. Goswick, his mother "Annie" appears to have married the 3rd time to a Mr. Lloyd F. Frye.

Thomas and Henry Jackson Goswick were son's of Henry Jackson and Rebecca (Santymier) Goswick of Pa.
 
 

Stone Hill Cemetery
Hempfield Township
Westmoreland County Pennsylvania

The Stone Hill Cemetery is located between Armbrust and New Stanton Pa, about 1 mile out of Fox Town. It is a very old cemetery that is not kept up except for family members. There are Yucca plants
And briars over a good part of the cemetery. It is located in the woods with a tree line seperating the new part from the older part. Stones are list in rows as best as can be, a / means that a new line was started on the stone.

Roy E. Goswick, son of John H. and Emma (Workman) Goswick.  The obit of Roy E. Goswick reads:  Roy E. Goswick age 87 of Mount Plesant, R.D. 21 Prittstown, died Friday in H.C. Frick Community Hospital, Mount Plesant.  He was born April 15,1895 in Bullskin Township, a son of the late John H., and Emma (Workman) Goswick. He has been a resident of Connellsville area most of his life.  He was a veteran of World War 1, serving with the USArmy.  He was a member of the Connellsville V.F.W. Post 21.  He leaves his wife Anna Catherine Lilley Goswick, two daughers, Mrs. Eugene "Ethel" Oldland of Prittstown,, and Mrs. Albert E. (Bernice) Baysinger of Connellsville. Nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren,   He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  He was preedeceased by two daughters, Melve and Frances, and four brothers, Frank, Edgar, John and Francis Goswick.

Reed Maloyd Goswick, son of William Henry Jackson Goswick, Jr, and Anne (Workman) Goswick.  His wife Sarah Azalea Kamerer re-married a Mr. Jenkins and she died in 1989 Sun City, Fla.  Sarah A. (Kamerer) Goswick, Jenkins supplied all info on her family.  Sarah Azalea Kamerer was the daughter of John Franklin Wolf & Annie Maria (Erwin) Kamerer of Hempfield Township, Pa.  Sarah stated that Reed had left her about the year 1926 and sometime later she divorced him and married a Mr. Jenkins and they lived in Florida.

Thomas Goswick, son of William Henry Jackson and Susan Rebecca (Santaymier) Goswick.  Thomas and Anne Goswick were expecting their first child, and Tom was killed in a coal mining accident.  Anne then married Henry Jackson Goswick, and they had several children.

 Ralph R. Goswick, 56 years old of  New Stanton , Pa. died at 5;10 o'clock Saturday evening after a lingering illness. he is survived by his mother and stepfather Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd F. Frye of New Stanton, and the following brothers and sisters: F Frye of New Stanton, Jesse B. of Youngwood, Mrs. Harry Nicklow, of Connersville: Mrs. Russell Overly of Warren Ohio: Mr. Reed  M. of Detroit, Mich.: Mrs. William Overly of Alverton: Mrs. Joseph C. Springer of New Stanton. Friends will be received at his mothers home, with services to be conducted there at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by Rev. C.C. Collins. Internment will be in the Mount Olive cemetery near Scottsdale.

Hanna married Elmer E. King of Scottdale PA. abt. 1891. Hanna died after Gall Bladder surgery in May about 1923-25 and I believe she is buried in Greensburg, PA. Elmer remarried (?) and had another son, Richard that died after a work related accident. Hanna & Elmer had two children, my grandmother, Estella Pearl born on Aug. 13, 1892, died Feb. 18, 1982 in Bakersfield, CA., and a son Walter V. born in 1894. Walter passed in the 1950s and is buried in Penn Hills, PA.
Estella married Clayton Torrance of Scottdale, PA.
Estella and Clayton had one child, my mother, Monica Pricilla Torrance born Aug. 3,1908 died on Feb. 3, 1987 in Bakersfield, CA.
Mom married Samuel Stanley McClellan Adams who was born April 2, 1908, in Manor, PA.  My sister Nancy Torrance and myself Susan Carol are the children of this marriage.
I will send you more information on Elmer's parents and my Dads family if you want.
Now I will try to send the picture of Susan Rebecca S. Goswick and William Henry Goswick with Bruce and Carrie (Caroline Goswick) Hopper and Sammy Hodge. The picture of the lady and man is the wedding picture of Hanna and Elmer.
