Just a little bit about my grandma "Lula Frances Thompson". She was a dance hall gal when grandpa met her. She was a very small, thin petite woman, smoked a corn cob pipe when she was a young girl, then later switched to cigarettes. She married several times after grandpa McClure died, and the only one of her husbands that I ever met was grandpa Dan Shirley, dont know if she divorced him or if he left her by "dying off". {kgk}

My great grandmother was Lucy Adelaide Haynes, born Feb 14, 1877 in Texarkana, Texas. Her mother died Feb 14, 1878 and is buried at the Wooten Springs Cemetery in Texarkana. The cemetery records say she was born 10/18/1860 and died 2/14/1878 and was the wife of Calvin Haynes. Lucy A. Haynes married Jesse Adams. Note census findings below.

Grandmother Lucy was living in the household of C. Thompson in 1880 in Red River County, Texas where she is listed as L. A. Haines, grand daughter, age 3. She later lived with her father (Calvin Haynes) after he remarried in 1882, and they moved to Oklahoma.

Adams, age 52, a farmer working on his own farm. It also lists his wife Lucy, age 52; son Bennie age 13; and daughter Lemley age 11. They are living on a farm that they own, valued at $8,000. The enumeration was taken April 5th, 1930.
