JOHANNA GUBBINS RIORDAN
lived in Ballyvorneen, Caherconlish Parish, Limerick, IrelandShe married DANIEL RIORDAN at St. Michael's RC Church in Limerick City, Oct. 23, 1836. Witnesses were GEORGE GUBBINS and ANASTASIA BARRY.Johanna and Daniel had at least 6 children. Three of them, JOHN GUBBINS RIORDAN (my great-grandfather), DANIEL GUBBINS RIORDAN, and SARAH RIORDAN moved to Chicago around 1867.

According to the Chicago directory, and family lore, John Gubbins Riordan lived with his Gubbins cousins on Lytle, when he first arrived in Chicago. This was the family of GEORGE GUBBINS,Sr., who was born in Noughlong or Knocklong, Limerick c. 1810 and married JANE O'FARRELL c. 1838
George's sons were JAMES, WILLIAM, and GEORGE,Jr. The daughters in this family were MARY ANNE, JOHANNA, RACHEL, and JANE.
