DEATH OF JOHN GUBBINS RIORDAN, from Oak Leaves, February 6, 1915

John G. Riordan of 182 Ashland (Note 1) died suddenly on last Saturday from neuritis of the heart. Mr. Riordan, who had been ill for about a week, was recovering and pronounced out of danger, when the end came. He was born in Limerick Ireland 62 (Note 2) years ago, and has lived in River Forest for the past twenty years. Mrs. Riordan died six years ago. Ten children survive the father--Elizabeth G., Frances L., Katharine B., Sadie, Gertrude, Anna, Theresa, Genevieve, Irene, Mrs. Mary Carlin, and Mrs. Margaret Mullin (Note 3) of Kansas City--and a son, George Joseph.
The funeral service took place from St. Luke's on Tuesday morning, Father Burke officiating and Father O'Brien of Chicago, delivered the sermon. Interment was at Mount Carmel.

DEATH OF MRS. ELIZABETH A. RIORDAN, from Oak Leaves, Saturday, September 4, 1926

The death of Mrs. Elizabeth A. Riordan occurred on Wednesday, August 25, at her home, 216 Ashland, River Forest, from an illness that had existed for the past three years, but it was only during the last month that she was unable to leave her bed.
Mrs. Riordan was born in England seventy-three years ago (Note 1) and had lived in River Forest for the last twenty years. She was a member of St. Luke's Catholic church, and funeral services, with requiem high mass, were held last Saturday morning. Interment services took place at Calvary.
Mrs. Riordan was the mother of the late Daniel G. Riordan and Leander Riordan, who sacrificed his life in the World War. A daughter, Mrs. Catherine J. Keefer of River Forest, and a son, R.J. Riordan of Austin, survive.

Note 1- Her maiden name was Knott, and, although she was born in England, at least one parent shows up as Irish, in more than one Chicago Census.
