Henschel (Hentschel) Family from Saxony, Germany
Arthur Henschel, (pictured at left with his son and wife, Theresa Armstrong Henschel) was the first child of the Franz Henschel family to be born in the United States.
Arthur's father, Franz Julius Henschel arrived in New York on Feb 15, 1882 with his 9-year old daughter, Martha. His wife, Anna Faulk Reichel Henschel, was pregnant and did not follow Franz until after their child was born. Anna arrived in New York on July 22, 1882 with 3 month old Alfred, and their other 4 children--twins Helene and Therese, Elizabeth and Franz jr.
Frank Julias Henschel was born March 5, 1845 in Leipzig, Germany, and died September 27, 1912 in Kansas City, Wyandotte Co, Kansas. His first wife is unknown but she apparently died between 1872 and 1875. He married Anna Theresa Faulk about 1876 in Leipzig, daughter of Ferdinand Faulk. She was born November 19, 1852 in Zwacow, Saxony, Germany, and died July 20, 1922 in Kansas City, Wyandotte Co, Kansas. She had previously been married to Robert Reichel but he died about 1875 in Saxony.

- Martha Henschel, born May 1872 in Saxony, Germany. Martha is the daughter of Frank and his first wife. She married (1) August Schinke about 1890. He was born February 1867 in Germany, and died about 1900 in Kansas. She married (2) James O'Donnell about 1901 in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas. James was born in 1852 in Illinois, and died about 1919 in Kansas.
- Helene Reichel Henschel, born 1873 in Saxony, Germany. Helene is one of the twin daughters of Anna and her first husband, Robert Reichel, who died in Germany.
- Therese Reichel Henschel, born 1873 in Saxony, Germany. Therese is one of the twin daughters of Anna and Robert Reichel. She married (1) John Karl, son of William and Emma Karl. He was born in 1864 in Germany, and died 1900. Therese married (2) John's twin brother, William H. Karl, in 1902 in Kansas. He died about 1947 in Kansas.
- Elisabeth Mary Reichel Henschel, born March 19, 1875 in Saxony, Germany. Elisabeth is the daughter of Anna and Robert Reichel. She married Thomas J. Dulany about 1893 in Kansas. Thomas was born May 24, 1872 in Kansas.
- Frank Julias Junior Henschel, born March 1881 in Saxony, Germany. Frank is the first child of Anna and Frank's marriage.
- Alfred Henschel, born April 1882 in Saxony, Germany.
- Arthur Julius Henschel, born June 27, 1883 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York; he was the first Henschel child born in the United States. Arthur died April 1, 1961 in San Mateo County, California. He married Theresa Armstrong February 19, 1908 in San Francisco, California, daughter of James Armstrong and Julia Troy (see Armstrong). She was born November 28, 1888 in Lockeford, San Joaquin County, California, and died September 12, 1969 in San Mateo County, California.
- Hattie C. Henschel, born September 1886 in Kansas. She married Frank (John) Hymer about 1908 in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas. He was born 1888 in Kansas.
- William Henschel, born April 9, 1888 in Wyandotte County, Kansas; William died May 1976 in Bonner Springs, Wyandotte, Kansas. He married Irene about 1913 in Kansas. Irene was born about 1896 in Kansas.
- Walter Henschel, born March 5, 1890 in Wyandotte Co, Kansas; Walter died May 1972 in Harris County, Texas. He married Augusta about 1911. She was born 1894 in Kansas.
- Edith Elizabeth Henschel, born August 1892 in Wyandotte Co, Kansas. She married Rual (Claude) Barton about 1911 in Kansas. He was born 1888 in Missouri.
- Fred Carl Henschel, born July 6, 1895 in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas; Fred died February 1, 1980 in Emeryville, Alameda County. He married Margurite (Madge) Keith April 16, 1917 in Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas. She was born about 1895.
