Weakley County, Tennessee
James Harvey "Harve" Drewry 1863-1965 was born in a log cabin on his great grandfather's [Richard Drewry] land during the Civil War. After the war the big white farmhouse was built and the cabin was used for storage and later for the Delco Battery system that allowed the Drewry's to have electicity before TVA brought power to the people. He bought the farm from his father, Richardson Clark "Dick" Drewry in 1902. Harve loved good things to eat, so he grew food crops, no tobacco, no cotton. He was remembered by all as a good natured, happy man, lived to be 101. |
