50 Aliens Win Citizenship
18 Others are Repatriated
Fifty naturalized citizens received full American citizenship and 8 women who had lost their American citizenship by wedding aliens after Sept. 22, 1922 were repatriated at a ceremony in Judge Ned E. Reid's branch of Macomb circuit court.
At two sessions held Monday morning and afternoon, respectively the new citizens were welcomed into the great fraternity of American s by Judge Reid in a short talk. County Clerk Guy Brown administered the oath of allegiance and the new citizens were presented with small flags on staves as mementos of the occasion. The latter souvenirs were provided by the members of the DAR and of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
