Marchia HOLMVALL  (Johans^7, Anders^6, Anders^5,  Matt^4, Erik^3,  Erik^2,  Nils¹) was born 12 August 1860 in Sweden. She died 20 June 1888 in Hollsvattnet, Sweden. She was also unMarried and lived near her brother Anders Johan family.

He lived in Lars Anton's home until 1902 when he moved to the village of Ersnas

as a farmhand. He was unmarried.

Seventh Generation

He and his wife also took over a part of the farm at Hollsvattnet.

Anders Married Greta Johanna NORBERG20 September 1878 in Sweden. Greta was born 29 December 1854 in Neder Luleå, Hollsvattnet, Norrbottens, Sweden.

After Johan died age 38, Greta moved to Johan Nilsson in Holsvattnet, later to Bredtrasheden

Anders and Greta had the following children:

Johan Fredrik HOLMVALL  (Anders^8, Johans^7, Anders^6, Anders^5,  Matt^4, Erik^3,  Erik^2,  Nils¹) was born 23 October 1878. He died 14 July 1914.

He was a twin to Anders Leonard.

She and husband took over a part of the farm in Hollsvattnet. Her busnad was a

brother to her twin brother Ander's wife Greta Johanna.

Anna Married Lars Anton NORBERG1 December 1878 in Sweden. Lars was born 5 December 1852 in Hemmanseg, Pitea Parish.

Hilda Johanna NORBERGwas born 1877 in Neder Luleå, Hollsvattnet, Norrbottens, Sweden.

She moved from her home in 1881 (18-19 yrs old) to the village of Ersnas as a

maid. In 1883 she went to the village of Gaddvik, in 1885 to the village of

Sunderbyn. They lived in the village of Sunderbyn first as a soldier (he),

alter as a crofter.

Emma Married Erik Magnus HOLMGREN Soldier27 November 1887 in Sweden. Erik was born 15 October 1865 in Neder Luleå, Råneå, Sunderbyn, Norrbottens, Sweden.

Grandma and Grandpa lived at 8631 30th ave SW, Seattle, WA from 1918 to 1940.

Per Lorrain & Borgney, Grandma's family - brothers & ? were from Black Diamond,

WA area where they farmed. Grandpa worked on farm and got her pregnant and he was

forced to Marchry her. Probably explains some pictures. She is buried with her

husband at Washingtonshelli, Seattle, WA in Section 0, Lot 632, Graves 2&3.

Emigrated 7/2/1890 & 8/26/1890 as HOLMVALL, KRISTINA S, 23 years old, to Seattle.* 
She was from the parrish in the county of Norrbottens lan..
She left Sweden through Gotenborg 1890 Augustust 26 on board the steamship Orlando, destined to Hull England. Her destination was said to be Seattle. The source for this was the Lansarkivet - Gotenbuerg emigration archives. 

I have also been told she probably took a train to Liverpool and then a ship to either New York or Canada.

Per Håkan Holmvall , Sophia emigrated from the parish nederlulee (Holsvattnet is of this parish and this

is where Johan Petter lived with his family). She went by boat from the town of Gothenburg to Seattle.

Julyy 12, 1991 Bev, Laurine and I (Karen) met with Evelyn Cussac. She told us

that she and Dad had just been friends growing up, although I suspect there was

more. She also said as Peter Thompson had made Louisa's mother pregnant and

then left, while working in the Black Diamond area he made Grandma pregnant and

then wanted to leave her but all his work mates, etc. banded together and said

he had to Marchry Grandma. 1/117/92 I called Evelyn. She said Dad (Iver) 10-12

years old when Fred Johnson died. I doubt as his will was in 1914 - when she &

Dad were 5. She said she had brass cribbage board that Grandpa had made. She

said Fred was Peter's friend, not Uncle Iver's which she pronounced "Aver"

Evelyn said neither Peter nor Iver went to chruch, just the women did and the church is still where it

was, which was NOT in Ballard.

Grandma and Grandpa lived at 8631 30th ave SW, Seattle, WA from 1918 to 1940.

Per Laurine, Peter lost his leg in a RR accident while the boys were growing up. He returned to work

before he should have and the stump became very bloddy. He was a machinest, In 1884 he was a

night watchman. He died of colon cancer

Iver Albert THOMPSON(Stina Sophia HOLMVALL, Johan Petter HOLMVALL, Anders MATTSSON, Matts Eriksson ERSSON, Erik ERIKSSON, Erik NILSSON, Nils) was born 16 December 1909 in Seattle, Washingtonshington. He died 27 October 1959 in Sedro Woolley, Washingtonshington. He was buried in Washingtonshelli, Seattle, Washington.

Julyy 12, 1991 at lunch with Evelyn Cusssac, Bev and Laurine, Evelyn said

that Fred Johnson who bequeathed the land to Dad when Dad was four years old was

a short black haired black

mustaiche (which was big) Norweigian batchelor who was a friend of the family

(Dad's Uncle Iver).

He was a backsmith, (I can't really remember) but he was NOT a lumberman. He

had been a friend of Dad's Uncle Iver. Both were from Norway.

He had no first and second names on his birth certificate. In 1957 he had them

put on. He lived in Poulsbo from 1944-1951. He chopped wood and built a

quantset house for $2000 and he loved living in the woods. He and his wife were

charter members of the Lemola Baptist Church in Poulsbo in 1946. He moved to

Mountlake Terrace

when the ferry moved from Suquamish to Bainbridge as he felt it was too far to

Dad worked at Union 76 before we left Seattle. Dad was up for bonus for perhaps 25 years and

nephew or son of owner took dad's job - we think that was the start of Dd's breakdown.

Iver Married Laura Mary HOFFMAN daughter of Peter HOFFMAN and Emma Josephine DUMONT Josie 28 February 1935 in Port Orchard, Washingtonshington. Laura was born 26 September 1909 in Great Falls, Montana. She died 4 September 1982 in Granada Hills, Los Angelas, Ca. She was buried in Washingtonshelli, Seattle, Washington. 

According to Marchy Louise Miles, "Your mother puts me in mind and looks like her

grandmother EMMA DUMOND and if she had been raised Catholic I think she would

have been very devout. Sometimes I wonder if she would have found the Catholic

religion more rewarding as to her needs. She lived in Seattle from 1944-1951.

She and her Husband Iver were charter members of the Baptist Church in Poulsbo.

She was raised in West Seattle with her brother Roy. Bought property in

Mountlake Terrace, WA after leaving Poulsbo Julyy 7, 1951. That property was

sold Aprilil 24, 1962.

Iver and Laura had the following children: 

Karen Marchie THOMPSONwas born 29 October 1940 in Seattle, Washingtonshington.

She taught school in French and Spanish and was school librarian from 1962 to

1974. She had a BA degree

from Kearney State College and an Me.D with an emphasis in media administration

at the University of Nebraska. She was a records manager for a subsidiary of BN

Railroad, Plum Creek Timber Company and SAFECO Properties, a subsidiary of

SAFECO Insurance Co. Her special interests included genealogy, knitting and

animals, especially dogs. She was born with no first or second name as was her

father. She put her first name on her birth certificate via forms but was

unable to get her middle name on it without going through court. Her original

name was Carol Ann. She was named after a woman in her father office. She and

her husband bought the land in Poulsbo, WA that her father had inherited from

a friend of his uncle Iver's named Johnson.

Karen Married Duane Dean MILLER 26 November 1958 in Seattle, Washingtonshington. Duane was born 29 April 1935 in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Established harasser. He had his Ed.D degree from the U. of Nebraska. His

disseration was in Peer Evaluation; but, he

dropped out of education after losing several jobs. After moving to WA state

he built five houses in twelve years, four of which he rented out and one in

which he lived with his wife. At the same time he maintained

the family through two job eliminations of his wife Karen over eight years for

sixteen years. He had friends among school board members and builders, the

former of which he frequently hasseled. He taught school for two years and was

school Superintendent at two schools after that. He spoke openly of being the

most fired person.

He was a minister in Lutheran churches most of his life in Northern California.

He and his wife lived in Berkeley, Ca. in a house that had at one time

belonged to a governor of California.
