When writing to Luxembourg Archives for the
family of my John Hoffman born 5 Jan, 1827-1834, with a
father Peter, perhaps a mother Eve, and two unmarried sisters,
Annie and Mary, the above was returned to me as a high
liklihood.

In the year 1828, on the 30th of April, at ten
o'clock in the morning before us, Nicolas Feiereisen mayor, official of
the civil register of the community of Redingen, district of Arlon, in
the grand duchy of Luxembourg, appeared Johannes Petrus Hoffman,
farmer, unmarried, aged 25 years, born Redingen on 15 October 1802, from
the military service exempted by certificate of Mr. Governor of nine and
twentieth of last? January, resident at Redingen, major son of
Philippus Hoffman, farmer, resident at Redingen, here present and
to the mentioned marriage agreeing and of the at the mentioned Redangen
on 16 January 1824 deceased Anna Maria Mersch more in the future
bridesgroom on the one hand and Eva Even, unmarried aged 24
years, born Boullingen (see http://www.buellingen.com/) near
Wiltz on 9 November, 1803, resident at Redingen, major daughter of those
at Boullingen of Wiltz on 3 October 1805, deceased Nicolaus Even
for his lifetime farmer at Boullingen and of Elisabetha
Reuter, farmer's wife, at Redingen resident, present here and to
the mentioned marriage agreeing, future bride on the other hand, who us
have asked, to them by them settled execution of their marriage to
proceed, and the proclamations of whom in the community of Redingen on
the Sunday's thirteenth and twentieth oif this month of April at noon
have taken place. Since no contradiction has been declared to us
against the intended marriage so we do to their desire justice, and
after we all the above mentioned deeds and the 6th chapter of the civil
code, :about the marriage have read, have we asked the bridegroom and
the bride, whether they want to take themelves as husband and wife since
they both, each separately and affirmingly have answered, so declare we
in the name of the law, that Johannes Petrus Hofmnann and Eva
Even by marriage are united.

About all this we have issued this deed that is in
the presence of Johannes Militor, farmer, aged 52, resident of Souren,
uncle of the groom on the father's side, of Petrus Elsen, farmer,
aged 50, resident at Nagem, cousin of the groom, of Jihannes Oeturs
Glkasener, farmer, agted 57, resident at Grosbous, uncle of the bride on
the mother's side, and of Josephus Krips, farmer, aged 45.
Which, after it has been read to them, the same ones
with us have undersigned.

in this community, who us has declared and presented a child of female
sex, born yesterday at six o'clock in the afternoon from him ??? (French
word?) and from Eva Even his spouse and whom he the first name
Elisabetha has declared to be willing to give. Which declaration and
presentation in the presence of Petrus Duckerer??, farmer, aged twenty
two years, and of Johannes Geissner, aged [age missing] years, day
labourer, who are residents in this community, have taken place; and
have the appearing person and the witnesses the present deed of birth,
