He married about 2 July 1797 Agatha KOHLER born 23 October 1776 in Busenbach.  His second marriage was to Marianna ENES.

Anton STEPPE  (Josef2 Christian1) was born 2 October 1806 in Busenbach. He was the son of Johann Georgii STEPPE and Agatha KOHLER. Anton died 16 January 1848 in United States, at the age of 41.

Emigrated February 3, 1845 to the United States with his wife and three surviving children. He was a fabric worker. When his brother Karl left for America in 1843, Anton was to assume responsibility for a yearly pension for their father George. Anton returned in November, 1845 to Baden.

He married Katharina ANDERER 1 February 1836 in Busenbach, Baden, Germany. She was born 6 February 1811 in Busenbach. She was a twin to Josephus (who soon died), the daughter of Jacobi ANDERER, born 3 March 1767 and died 30 April 1820, and Katharina Kohler. Katharina Kohler , born 26 August? 1763 died 31 October, 1829? Jacobi/Jacobus was a soldier. Katharina died 23 February 1882 in United States, at the age of 71.

Franz Anton STEPPE (Anton3, Josef2 Christian1) born 13 March 1837 in Busenbach. He married  Mar . Luise HUNZELMANN 5 October 1862 in Busenbach. She was born in Busenbach.

In Busenback , Franz was a factory worker. Franz died in United States.

Franz Ignaz STEPPE    (Johann2 Christian1) was born 11 October 1810 in Busenbach. He was the son of Johann Georgii STEPPE and Agatha KOHLER. He lived at Hirsingen. Franz died 30 November 1886 in Busenbach, at the age of 76.

There were married in Breirtheim. He married Gertrud MÜLLER 26 October 1835 in Busenbach. She was born 19 November 1813 in Busenbach. She was the daughter of Joseph MÜLLER and Magdalene Markert. Gertrud died 4 January 1885, at the age of 71. Franz Ignatz, bought  property, according to their departure records, page 32.

Eva Genofeva STEPPE  (Johann2 Christian1) was born 20 March 1815 at 10 in the evening at 10 o'clock in Busenbach. She was the daughter of Johann Georgii STEPPE and Agatha KOHLER. Sponsors were Johann Seiberlich and Georg Schrer, and her godmother was Katharina Becker, perhaps the wife of Johann Seiberlich. She was baptised March 21. Genofeva died 9 February 1894 in Pierz, Minnesota, at the age of 78, and was buried in Pierz, Minnesota, St. Joseph, Cemetery.

Additional information about Genofeva:

Registered to emigrate 25 March 1843 when she was 28 years old, got on boat 31 March 1843. Genofeva came with her brother Karl to the United States.She stated: I am of the mind to emigrate to North America and have therefore sold my real property which I inherited several years ago from my parents the George Steppe, to my brother H. Ignaz Steppe, Citizen and Master Tailor in Busenbach for the sum of 260 Gulden. In words: Two Hundred Sixty Gulden. Who, in addition to the property, will assume [responsibility for] the annual pension to be given to still living father Georg Steppe in Busenbach, and hence also, to prevent a debt liquidation, has also assumed responsibility for any debts owed by me. I therefore request of the Grand Duchy District Office in Ettlingen [that they] will grant the necessary. . . [unfinished here]

According to her homestead record, they were married 1839, which was a date error. John’s name on the record was John Danch. The marriage was found in "Western Maryland Catholics" 1819-1851 compiled by Richard Koch & Phyllis Davidson. It is records from St. Ignasius (now St Patricks in Mt. Savage) and also records from St. Marys (now St. Patricks in Cumberland) His naturalizion record was not found in Cumberland nor in Minnesota.
