'Civilising Subjects' by Catherine HALL (Polity Press ISBN 0-7456-1821-9).  Published in 2002.  Signed copy by the Kettering born author, Professor of Modern British Social and Cultural History at University College, London.  A thought provoking book, a veritable tour de force, containing many references to William KNIBB and his times.   Here's a link to an article based on the book by her in The Guardian 20 April 2002.

Copies of any other books that have been written about William KNIBB and his times are sought for the One Name Study.  The official archive of William KNIBB memorabilia, letters etc (formerly held by the Baptist Missionary Society)  is at The Regents Park College Library, Oxford.  I made notes at a visit there on 3rd July 2000
