Ernesto G. Fabbri dutifully performed his compulsory military service in Italy as a young man in 1894, as seen in uniform at left. Although in Italy at the outbreak of the Great War, he was inducted into the United States Army in 1917. He served two years as a linguist and possibly as an intelligence agent.
