Sebastien married Anne Marie Wolff, the daughter of the Mayor of Kutzenhausen. His uncle, Balthasar (the father of the 3 brothers France Joseph, Phillip, and Laurence) was a witness. He was also a sandstone potter by trade, and set up a pottery in Surbourg around 1826. However, he is found back in Betschdorf around 1835, when his son, Francois Joseph, is born.

Sebastien is known to have left for Paris sometime before 1846, and there is a 40-year old Sebastien Krumeich found on the ship registry for the Oneida (James Funk as Captain), which left Le Havre, France and arrived in New York harbor on 17 Sept 1844, though he was is Oberbetschdorf for the birth of his youngest son Sebastian on 29 Jan of that same year. V. Schmitter says that Sebastian took his daughter Catherine on his first visit. According to V. Schmitter's records, Sebastian applied two years later, the 27 April 1846, at the Mairie of Oberbetschdorf for a passport allowing him to travel to Paris with his wife and their 5 (youngest?) children. The passport says that he is a potter, 41 years old and 1.65 meters tall. An American correspondant of Mr. Schmitter discovered in the US immigration records that a family of farmers arrived in New York on the ship Albatros the 26 Aug 1846. The names and ages seem to correspond. He is later found living in Newark, New Jersery, near his cousins, France Joseph, Phillip, and Laurence (also potters) in the 1850 U.S. Census. He continued the pottery business with his cousins, presumably until his death.
