Genealogy Overview
This is the Rury Family Tree
The best that could be found,
Couldn't be too accurate, You see,
As most are underground.
Author: Albert Rury, CA
Connecting relationships between people is sometimes
more guess work and logical assumptions than scientific.
Every attempt is made to identify collaborating evidence
before associating one person to another. Despite this,
mistakes do occur. In all cases assume the information is
wrong and confirm it against any evidence you may have.
Since much of this information was gathered over the phone,
spelling errors occur and many times counties or baptism/christening
information was not gathered. If you have evidence to the contrary or
additional collaborating evidence please email me.
I will add the new source and correct the information. If you do not want your phone number included in these documents please contact Kenneth Rury as listed above. You should be aware though that most of these phone numbers can be found on the internet white pages.
I hope to provide a consolidated collection of Rury artifacts such as obituaries, wills, newspaper articles, photographs etc.. At some future
point I hope to scan these for electronic storage and possible reproduction.
The extent to which this succeeds is dependent upon your assistance and support.
I hope you enjoy the information provided and will share it with all your
Rury relatives. I provide this information at no charge and hope you will
do the same. Donations to help cover the cost of the research, printing and
mailing of these findings are greatly appreciated and will be used solely to
further this effort. If you can research your state census records, or document
Rury's in the local cemetery or check telephone books in places your travel,
specially when in another country than you have provided something that is priceless.
Genealogy Conventions used in this Document:
Places: city, county, state (commas are used as place holders if one is missing) In some cases a Hospital or Cemetery may precede the city.
Dates: Estimated dates are given to help understand approximately what period the person is from. In many cases someone knows the approximate date, in others it is determined by estimating they were at least 15 years old before they got married or had children, or would be close in age to a sibling. Based on known dates an estimated date is then entered using these abbreviations ABT-about, BEF-before, BET-between. These dates could be as much as 20 years off.

Please send me historical and modern descriptions of places that you know about that
are listed in these records. I will include these descriptions to help people understand
where these places are and what they look like.
SOFTWARE:
If you have a PC or Apple Computer you may want to consider buying Genealogical software. While the books that I provide are useful they don't nearly provide the flexibility of searching and generating different views on the spot. I use Family Origins for Windows v5 from Parsons Technology, which cost around $29 + $5 shipping, Call 1-800-223-6925 for the current price. Or you can use any software that can import GEDCOM files.
I have found though that this will lose some information.
I am more than happy to provide a copy of the related part of my database via e-mail or 3.5" diskettes in either GEDCOM,
Family Origins, rather than in hard copy form.
I have other documents including a detailed report of all Census records found and what states still need Census records researched.
