Cora Hughett Buried at Laneer

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Cornelia Hughett, 76, who died at the Masonic home in Guthrie Wednesday, were held this afternoon at the Strode chapel with Rev. John Sayre in charge.
Burial was at Laneer cemetery under the direction of the Strode Funeral home.
She was born in Princeton, Ill., Sept. 20, 1875, the daughter of Cornelius and Lucinda Greene. She was married to Bert L. Hughett at Mt. Hope, Kans., Feb. 1, 1893.
She came to Payne county following the opening of the Cherokee Strip and lived on a farm northwest of Stillwater. The couple moved to Stillwater in 1909 and went to Red Rock in 1922. A year later they moved to Perry, leaving there for Sedgwick, Kans., in 1929.
Her husband died Feb. 14, 1941, and she moved to Arkansas City, living with her son, Merl L. Hughett until returning to Stillwater last September. She went to Guthrie March 5, 1952.
Survivors other than her son in Arkansas City, include two grandchildren and one nephew, Floyd Shockey of Stillwater.
Bearers will be Walter Grady, Clarence Bassler, Willard Redington, Bill Simring, Clarence Mayfield and Jack Elliott.
