Death of C.A. Greene.
Cornelius A. Greene died at his home, 1408 Lowry street, Sunday, October 5, 1913, at 5:30 o'clock, after an illness of four weeks of a complication of diseases. The duneral was held Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the home, conducted by Virtes Williams, of the Christian church, burial being at the Lanier cemetery, ten miles northwest of Stillwater.
Cornelius A. Greene was born in Sumner county, Ohio, October 21, 1836, and died in Stillwater, October 5, 1913, being 76 years, 11 months and 14 days at the time of his death. In 1840 he came to Bureau county, Illinois, with his father, and there lived for nearly forty years. In 1867 he married Miss Lucinda Middleton. To this union three children were born.
In 1879 he moved from Illinois to Kansas, near Mt. Hope, and in 1897 he moved to Oklahoma, ten miles northwest of Stillwater, living there one year with his daughter Mamie. The next year, 1898, he lived on the old Jett farm, and in 1899 he bought the north half of the Middleton farm, and there lived 1906, when he sold the farm and moved to Stillwater, where he lived until death. He leaves a wife and three children, two daughters and one son, Mrs. Mamie Shokey. Mrs. Cora Hughett and George R. Greene, all living in Stillwater; also nine grandchildren.
Mr. Green was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.
