Pete Manchester
Private family services for Pete Manchester, age 63, of Stillwater, were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 7 in Lanier Cemetery, Stillwater, with Pastor Albert May officiating. Services were under the direction of Palmer-Marler-Carberry Funeral Home.
Mr. Manchester was born March 4, 1944, to Samuel and Dorothy (Tilford) Manchester, in Iowa City, Iowa, and passed from this life Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, in Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He grew up and attended school in Iowa and later married Lois Gardner May 28, 1962, in Auburn, Wash., later moving to Oklahoma in 1984. Mr. Manchester was a laborer by trade and his hobbies included fishing, hunting, watching sports and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lois, of the home; one son, Danny Manchester of Oklahoma City, two daughters, Cindy Special and John of Stillwater and Shelia Fuller and husband, Dallas, of Stillwater; four brothers, Ernie Manchester and wife, Penny, of Iowa, Glen Manchester of Iowa, Larry Manchester and wife, Karen, of Iowa and Joe Manchester and wife, Joyce, of Iowa; brother-in-law, Clarence Gardner of Olympia, Wash.; nephew, Mike Gardner of Olympia, Wash. and four grandchildren, Johnny Special, Jake Special, Cheyenne Fuller and Amanda Fuller.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rosemary Manchester and Betty Gardner.
