Elmer Shockey, 69, died at his home, 1112 Fern street, Stillwater, Ok., at 11 o'clock Thursday morning, May 2, 1929. He had been ill about a week, but his condition had not been considered as serious.
The decedent was born in Ohio, in 1860. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mamie Shockey, by a son, Floyd, and a daughter, Mrs. J.L. Thatcher, both of Stillwater; a sister, Mrs. Dicey Erskine, Detroit, Mich., and a brother, John Shockey, of Lansing, Mich. He was a member of the Baptist church and of the I. O. O. F. lodge.
Funeral services for Elmer Shockey, 69, who died at his home, 1112 Fern street, Thursday morning, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Strode Funeral home, 610 Duncan street, with the Rev. O.L. Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Lanier cemetery, northwest of Stillwater.
Mr. Shockey was a native of Ohio. He went to Kansas in 1884. He was married in 1892 to Miss Mamie Green, and they came to Oklahoma in 1895, settling ten miles northwest of Stillwater, where they lived until 1911, when they moved to Stillwater.
