Henry W.B. Williams Dies; Rites Saturday
Rev. Sam Davison will officiate at services for Henry Ward Beecher Williams, who died Oct. 30, 1975, in Stillwater Municipal Hospital. He was 84. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Strode Chapel with interment at Lanier Cemetery, northeast of Stillwater.
Williams was born May 25, 1891, at Aurora, Mo. And was the son of John Ezekiel and Ellen Elizabeth Williams. He came to Payne County in 1900 and was married to Lois Spillman, who preceded him in death in 1913. He was later married to Florence Nash Oct. 22, 1937, in Oklahoma City, and she is among his survivors. A retired farmer, Williams was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Peggy Dempsey, and a son, who died in infancy.
In addition to his wife, also surviving are four sons, Theo Williams, Lafayette, La.; Joe Williams, Houston, Tex.; Don Williams, Perry; Glee Williams, Rt. 4; four daughters, Mrs. Dale (Jackie) Jafek, Heyburn, Idaho; Mrs. James (Eva Joy) O'Daniel, Minco; Mrs. David (Kay) Palmer, Oklahoma City; and Mrs. Roxie (Gay) Archibald, 1202 N. Main. Other survivors are a step son, Harold Woods, Rt. 1, one brother, Joe Williams, Colorado; and a sister, Mrs. Ollie Gaach, Palm Dale, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
