Mrs. Jennie B. Lile
Mrs. Jennie B. Lile, 72, died Friday, October 20, 1933, at her home at 908 West Tenth avenue, Stillwater, Ok.
Funeral services were held at Strode Funeral home, the Rev. Frank Crosswell, Cushing, officiating. Burial was in Lanier cemetery where Mr. Lile is interred.
Jennie B. Kohn was born in Cedar county, Illinois, June 10, 1861. She married William H. Lile, a Civil war veteran, in Linn county, Kansas, March 1, 1877. Nine children were born to this union and all of them survive the decedent and they are: Wilber E., Virgil J., Norman H., Willie E., and Ivo, all of Stillwater; Elisha E., Clovis, Calif.; Sarah A. Gates, El Reno; Cora M. Randolph, Sulphur, and Lizzie Seely, Coffeyville, Kan. There are forty-six grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Four sisters survive and they are Lizzie Wood and Nannie clint, both of California, and Emma Brayton and Anna Mitchell, both of Missouri.
The Lile family came to Oklahoma in 1893 at the opening of the Cherokee strip and homesteaded seven and one-half miles northwest of Stillwater, a farm Mrs. Lile owned at her death. She was ordained a minister of the Advent-Christian church in 1889 and has been an active member of forty-five years. As late as three weeks ago she was carrying on her gospel work on the streets of Stillwater.
