Saturday Services Slated For Mrs. Jessie Williams
Mrs. Jessie Louella Williams, 80, died Thursday, July 13, 1967, in the Hearthstone Retirement Home where she had lived since moving from her home at 624 E. 14th St. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Strode Chapel with Rev. Joe Samuels officiating. Burial will be in Lanier Cemetery with Strode Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Born on Aug. 20, 1886 in Winfield, Kan., Mrs. Williams was the daughter of Mack and Ellen Crabtree. She has lived in and around Stillwater since 1896, following her father here, after he made the Cherokee Strip Run in 1893.
Six sons, Earl, 501 W. Elm St.; Leo, Rt. 2; Wayne, 1405 Hartford; Lester, Perry; Mack, Wichita, Kan., and Billy, Rome, N.Y., and five daughters, Mrs. Velma Combs, 815 S. Jefferson; Mrs. Martha Busch, 1102 Fern St.; Mrs. Minnie Sloan,, Perry; Mrs. Lela Mae Osten, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Florice Spillman of Perry survive Mrs. Williams. Thirty grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren also survive her as do a half-brother, Earl Scott of Tulsa and a half-sister, Mrs. Bertha Doyle from Texas.
Mrs. Williams' husband, A.B. Williams, whom she married on Nov. 8, 1905 in Stillwater, preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1966. Two brothers and a sister have also died as did three sons, two in infancy, before Mrs. Williams.
