Madison Rites Set Wednesday
Services for John David Madison, 81-year-old Payne county pioneer who died Saturday at the Stillwater municipal hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Strode Chapel. The Rev. Lee Mullendore and the Rev. Joe Stumbaugh, pastor of the Assembly of God church, will officiate. Interment will be at the Laneer cemetery.
John David Madison was born on Sept. 12, 1875, at Rich Hill, Mo., the son of Wm. F. and Nancy Madison. He was married to Mary Ann Cabe in March, 1905, at Durant, Oklahoma. Madison came to Oklahoma in 1901 and settled northwest of Stillwater where he has lived since. He was a member of the Assembly of God church.
Survivors include the widow, and two nieces and one nephew whom the couple reared; Mrs. LeRoy Furman, Mrs. A.J. Swisher, and Haskell Madison, all of Stillwater. A brother, Sam Madison, Stillwater, also survives. The Madisons' only child preceded him in death. Four brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
