Jones Funeral Set Thursday
Annabelle Edwards Jones of Rt. 2, Stillwater, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 1984, in Perry. She was 39. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Stan Formby at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Strode Chapel. Burial will be at Lanier Cemetery, under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.
The daughter of Henry O. and Aletta Mae Gates, she was born in Stillwater May 24, 1944. She grew up here and attended local schools. She was married to Frederick Austin Damron. Following a divorce, she was married to Billy Harrison Strider, Sr. A third marriage was to Larry Lee Edwards. She was more recently married to John Jones.
Mrs. Jones was a housewife and cook at Sooner Motel, Perry. She was a member of the Assembly of God.
She was predeceased by a brother, William Charles Gates, in infancy. Surviving are her husband of Des Moines, Iowa; her mother, Mrs. Aletta Gates, Rt. 3; her father and step-mother, Henry and Ruby Gates of Perry; two sons, Michael Ray Strider, Rt. 3, and Billy Harrison Strider, Jr., Oklahoma City; six daughters, Mrs. George (Freda) Graham, Rt. 1, and Michelle Fay Strider, Rt. 3; Mrs. Jimmy (Sherry) Hunt, Perry; Mrs. Kerry (Kary) Poorman and Mrs. Boyd (Mary) Smiley, both of Medford, Okla., and Mrs. Alvin (Terry) Palmer, Blackwell; a brother, Joe Gates, 417 S. Lincoln; and six grandchildren.
