Sarah A. Hulls Dies; Service Slated Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Angeline Hulls (Sic), who died Friday, April 26, 1968,
in the Stillwater Municipal Hospital at the age of 83, will be held in the Strode Chapel at
2:30 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. Joe Stumbaugh officiating.
Burial will be in the Laneer Cemetery, northeast of Stillwater.
Mrs. Hulls was born at Liberty, Kan., Aug. 22, 1884, daughter of William H. and Jennie
B. Lile. She was married to W.M. Gates in Stillwater in 1904. Gates died in 1951, and she
married A.J. Hulls in Stillwater in 1953. He died in 1959.
Mrs. Hulls came to Oklahoma in 1893 and attended shcool at Pleasant Hill. During her
married life, she lived in Nebraska, Arkansas and California, returning to Oklahoma for varying
periods each time. She has been in the Stillwater area since 1941.
Survivors include five sons, Elvan Gates, Yale; William Gates, Ontario, Calif.; Timothy
Gates, 106 Perkins Road; Roy Gates, Polvaders, N.M., and Henry Gates, Rt. 2; five daughters,
Mrs. Margaret Mick, 619 Lowry; Mrs. Rena Anderson, Rt 2; Mrs. Mary Dennisson, Stanley, N.M.;
Mrs. Jennie Wilkerson, Rt. 4, and Mrs. Josephine Mick, 117 E. Virginia; four brothers, Ivo Lile,
523 E. 13th; Norman Lile, Clovis, Calif.; Elisha Lile, Stockton, Calif., and Willie Lile, 908 W.
10th.; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Lowe, 220 E. Seventh; 36 grandchildren, and 49 great-grandchildren.
