ALLEN BROCK was born 13 April 1794 in Knox County,
Tennessee, and died 21 October 1873 in Jacksonville,
Cherokee County, Texas. He married REBECCA SHELL 11
December 1814 in Fentress County, Tennessee. She was
born 1795. He enlisted on 10 December 1812 in the Tennessee Militia. His Captain was John Kennedy. He was discharged on 20 April 1813. Allen Brock's declaration for his penison as a soldier in the War of 1812 is dated 29 June 1871. He said that he was married on the ___ day of January 1813 or about that time. He shows his place of enlistment as Monroe, Overton County, Tennessee and his place of discharge was Columbia, Murray County, Tennessee. His service was in Natchez County, Mississippi and states he received two bounty land warrants, each 80 acres. Rebecca Brock, widow of Allen Brock, filed her declaration for a pension under date of 18 March 1874. Her testimony and that of other persons, shows that Allen Brock died in Jacksonville, Cherokee County, Texas on 21 October 1873 and that he was buried there. Rebecca shows that as Rebecca (Shelle) she married Allen Brock on 11 December 1814 (same date as in family Bible) that the service was performed by Reverend McDonald at Fentress County, Tennessee.
