Ok, ok, for those of you who keep asking. How on earth did you manage that? Well......, my husband Jim managed to purchase this bike for me and brought it home on 16 August 2004. I had already looked into going to the riding school to learn how to ride. The last time I rode a bike by myself was 30 years ago and it was a Kawasaki dirt bike. Not very big at all and not many controls. To make a long story shorter, I couldn't wait to see how it felt to ride it. After all, it didn't look THAT big, even though it weighs over 500 pounds. Well, I had just purchased my riding boots, and without them on, I can't touch the ground. The bike has always belonged to a girl and has been lowered but she was 5'8" and I'm 5'6". Big difference. Jim took me over to a parking lot where there were no cars and tried to show me how to do the brakes and gas controls and the clutch and all that stuff. Whew, there sure are a lot of instruments. Anyway, I did fine the first two times, but the third time, my hand slipped on the gas, which made the bike lunge forward and I panicked and couldn't remember where the brake or clutch was and hit the gas more and made it go faster. Needless to say, I wrecked. I bent the choke and the ignition key with my left knee and broke the headlight and the left tail light. It also has numerous scratches to the paint and chrome and the handle bars. I guess you could say, I left my mark. I myself sustained stitches to my right hand, broke my right thumb, bruised my right and left forearms, my ribs, my left leg and almost broke my right leg. I had a knot the size of a softball for quite a while. It's now the size of a golf ball. I have to wear my cast for no less than 8 weeks and maybe as many as 12. I plan on going to the bike course before I attempt getting back on this one again. It is presently parked in the garage and looking quite lonely. It was easier going through 4 hurricanes than riding this bike!!!
And YES I'm righthanded!!!

Well.... went back to the Doctor and he said 4 more weeks in this cast!
My hand has not mended totally.

My cast was removed today! Yippeeeee!! but.... I am having a difficult time with my entire hand and wrist at the moment. I am not able to do what I was doing with the cast on. My hand is hurting as much as it did when I broke it so it's going to take a couple of weeks the Doctor said for me to be able to do much with it. I am typing this with one hand. I will give another update when I'm able.

Well, it's been 5 weeks and I'm doing much better. I have gained some motion in my wrist and thumb during this time. I have decided, I think, to sell this bike. This adventure has not been pleasant and I don't want to ever have to go thru this again!
Anyone interested in buying a motorcycle???
Bike was sold on 01 May 2005
