WILLIAM WHOBREY son of WILLIAM WHOBREY and NANCY ANN DAY was born 10 February 1813 in Grayson County, Kentucky, and died 26 May 1888 in Butler County, Kentucky. He married MARY CLARK 23 July 1833 in Butler County, Kentucky. She was born 23 January 1815 in Butler County, Kentucky, and died 11 April 1905 in Edmonson County, Kentucky.

William Whoberry a member of the Baptist Church, and an Elder in it, was born the 10th of February 1813, professed religion and was baptized in January 1834, bacame a member of the Big Ready Church, and was set apart to the ministry of the word in 1841, by the Big Ready Church, to which he belonged until the day of his death, which occurred May 26 1888. He was pastor of the Big Ready Church from about 1842 until 1887, and was moderator of the Green River Association for about 15 years. He was a member of the Masonic Order for a good many years, and was buried in Masonic honors. He was 75 years, 3 months, and 16 days old when he fell asleep in Jesus, and was a minister of the Gospel 47 years. He was a strong believer in the doctrine of the Church, to which he belonged: and contended for it until the last. Like all good Baptists, he loved all good Christians. And with his last words, saying, "Watch and pray, lest ye enter into temptation," he died in the truimph of a living faith""
