ROBERT ANTHONY COLBERT my Great Grandfather, was born in Coweta, Newnan County, Georgia in 1850, son of a lay Methodist minister, Thomas Colbert and his second or third wife, Elizabeth E. M. Whitten. Robert married VIANNA E RUCKER 28 January 1870 Rutherford County, Tennessee. Vianna was born 13 August 1849 somewhere in Tennessee and died in Howell County, Missouri 04 March 1929. Robert died in Howell County, Missouri 03 February 1910. They are both buried at Big Springs Cemetery in southern Howell County, Missouri. Robert was an ordained minister in the Blue Mountain Association from 1886-1889, United Association from 1890-1892, Trace Ridge Association 1894 (as visiting clergy) and in 1895 in the Mount Pleasant area all of Northern Arkansas in the Searcy and Randolph County areas. He also ministered in the southern Missouri area of Howell County, Missouri. My Great Grandmother, Vianna, was said to have been disowned by her family when she married my great grandfather.

Children of Robert and Vianna were as follows:

1. Mary Novella Elizabeth Colbert, b. 1871, Searcy County, Arkansas; d 16 August 1950, Howell County, Missouri.
2. Emily Colbert, b. 1877, Searcy County, Arkansas; d. 30 August 1932, Searcy County, Arkansas.
3. Lulie Ann Colbert, b. 12 May 1879; d. 15 March 1907, Howell County, Missouri.
4. Nancy Triphena Colbert, b. 01 December 1885, Howell County, Missouri; d. March 1944, Stratford, Oklahoma.
5. Rev. John Hall Colbert, Sr., b. 1887, Searcy County, Arkansas; d. 11 March 1963 Howell County, Missouri.
6. Rev. Joseph Eckelston Johnston Colbert, b. 23 July 1889; d. 15 May 1963.
