Georgia Mae Locke Womack
McMinnville resident and Warren County native Georgia Mae Womack, 87, died July 26 at River Park Hospital after a brief illness. A retired Warren County school teacher and a member of Westwood Church of Christ, she was the daughter of George Robert (Bob) and Mattie Rowland Locke; and was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Houston Womack in 1990; and brother, B.F. Locke. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Joe Morris and Darlene Womack of McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Byron Chambers of McMinnville; granddaughters and a spouse, Alisha and Sam Womack Byford of Liberty, and Julie Caroline Chambers of Murfreesboro; grandsons and spouses, Joe David Womack and Mark Chambers, both of McMinnville, Clay and Amy Chambers of Boulder, Colo., Paul and Amanda Chambers of Cookeville; and sisters, Mattie L. Stalcup of McMinnville, Wilma L. Northcutt of Huntsville, Ala., and Ora L. Cox of Nashville. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at High’s Chapel with Lee Perkins and Mike Steakley officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service today at High’s. Memorial donations may be made to the Westwood Church of Christ youth program.
