As is the case with any family history, this one is a work in process. The goal of publishing this site is to present my work in the context of my sources for whatever use it may be put, if for no other reason than to spark some additional collaboration or comments which may be used in its improvement. I'll include anything that is more accurate in the next revision.

I would like to acknowledge a number of people who were helpful in providing me with a large portion of this site's content. The late Helen Meaker Bowser of Bloomington, IN, and the lateBettina Kestlehoot who have done much of the Joshua/Eli Meaker family documentation. Nancy Rodriguez of California provided the Grippin family from Norman on back, and the late Robert Phillips who documented the Landon family from Alvin back, and who was very instrumental in helping me connecting everyone to John A. Landon.  Bob has a very detailed multi part history of the Landon clan through John A. especially the Michigan portion and I recommend reading it on the Landon FRG site. I would also like to thank Emma Mae Bartlow, Historian for the Town of Vestal who really got me started in all this in 1998, with a bundle of basic information on the Meaker, Landon, Rulison, and Grippin families.

I also wish to thank all the members of the family who indulged me and provided so much time and memories that make this more than a list of a bunch of dead people.  My special thanks to my parents, to the late Blanche (Lamora) Meeker and her late daughter Virginia, my dearest aunt Viola (Vroman) Landon and all the rest who added their comments and memories.

If you would like an annotated (contains footnotes) GEDCOM version of of this material (or a portion of it), please contact me via email. Small portions are also available in printed and PDF formats upon request.

It is my intent to never show any information about a living person on this site. If you find this site a little bit interesting or object to something please let me know.  Please note that Social Security numbers listed are only shown for deceased persons listed in the freely available SSDI which can be seen and used on several free sites (including RootsWeb and Ancestry.com).
