My name is Karen Marshall (formerly Farmer), and I am the editor of this site.

How did all of this get started?

Quite a few years ago I began working on my Nova Scotia ancestors,
and kept running into Langilles in each family I researched.
And then I had the thought: "I wonder how all of these Langilles are connected?"
This website and email discussion group are the result of that single thought!

A question I've been asked several times, is "Are you a Langille?"
The answer is no - my main connection is through my 4th great-grandparents:
Catherine Langille 1792-1849 & David Tattrie 1790-1849
Catherine is the daughter of Jean Georges Langille & Mary Hayman

I'm always glad to hear from others researching any of these family lines;
and would be very pleased to add your family's photos and information to the site.
