Old Timers Entertained - Mr and Mrs Herbert Anderson, Arlington, Mass,
entertained at a dinner party for eight old time friends of
Mrs Anderson's mother, Mrs Emma Ernst,
who celebrated her eightieth birthday on Thursday, the 28th September.
In the evening Mrs Ernst received her nephews and nieces of greater Boston,
twenty in number.
The guests were entertained by vocal solos by Miss Mary Langille,
and piano and violin selections by her grandchildren,
Gordon and Jean Anderson.
Mrs Ernst was the recipient of many gifts and flowers
from the many friends she had made since residing in the United States.
Mrs Ernst was the daughter of Capt Edward Hirtle of this town,
and has one sister, Mrs Robert Wilson of Lunenburg,
and one brother Edward Hirtle of Worcester.
She has two children, Jesse Loye of Somerville,
and Mrs Herbert Anderson of Arlington,
with whom she has made her home for over thirty years;
also five grandchildren.
Mrs James Holland and Miss Dora Morash are nieces of Mrs Ernst,
and Walter Wilson is a nephew.
