This Indenture made this first day of July in the year of our Lord one
thousand and eight hundred and forty one.
Between George Frederick Langille 1st of the River John
in the County of Pictou,Yeoman,and Nancy his wife of the one part,
and William Langille, son of the said George Frederick Langille
also of River John,Yeoman, of the other part.
Witnesseth,that for and in consideration of the sum
of fifty three pounds and ten shillings of lawful money of Nova Scotia
aforesaid to the said xxx
George Frederick Langille and Nancy his wife by the said
William Langille in hand,
well and truly paid at or before the executing and delivery of these present.
The receipts whereof is hereby asked acknowledged.

The said George Frederick Langille and Nancy his wife have
and each of them Hath granted, bargained, sold, aligned, aliened, enfeoffed,
released, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents do and each of
them doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto
the said William Langille, his heirs and offspring forever all that
certain lot or parcel of land situate, lying and being in
the Settlement of River John aforesaid and on the western side of the River John,
abutted, bounded and described as follows:

Beginning on the South-east corner of a lot of land formerly conveyed to
by the said George Frederick Langille to one George Smith Langille, and
on the western bank of the River john aforesaid, thence running west by
compass eighty chains along the south line of said George Smith
Langille's lands or until it reaches the south-west corner of said land,
thence south until it reaches a brook commonly called Gratto's brook,
thence eastwardly along the several courses of said brook, until it
reaches the western bank of the River John aforesaid at the place where
the said brook falls into the said river, thence westwardly down stream
along the several courses of said river to the place of beginning.
The said lot, or parcel of land including the south westernmost moiety of a
certain tract of land purchased by the said George Frederick Langille
from one Frederick Perin by deed bearing date the seventh day of May, in
the year of the Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight, the
said moiety being intended to contain one hundred acres,
and the whole of one certain other tract of land
purchased by the said George Frederick Langille from
one Frederick Perin by deed bearing the date the
sixth day of April in the year of the Lord
one thousand and eight hundred and thirty one,
the said last mentioned lot of land being
estimated to contain fifty acres or thereabouts,
and the whole of the lot pieces or parcel of land herein before
rented or granted or conveyed by the said
George Frederick Langille and Nancy his wife to the said
William Langille containing by estimation one hundred and fifty acres,
be the same more or less.

Together with all the houses, outhouses, buildings, ways, waters,
watercourses, privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging and the
reversion and reversions remainder and remainders, rents issues and
forfeits thereof and also all the estate, right, title,interest,claim,
property and demand of him the said George Frederick Langille into out
of or upon the said lot piece or parcel of land with the appurtenances
and all with the right or claim to dower, or thirds of heir the said
Nancy his wife into of or upon the same or any part thereof.

To have and to hold the said hereby granted and conveyed lot piece or
parcel with the premises hereby and appurtenances unto him the said
William Langill, his heirs and assigns, unto his own proper use benefit
and behoof, and the said George Frederick Langille for himself his
heirs, executors, administrators doth hereby covenant promise and agree
to and with the said William Langill his heirs, executors,
administrators and assigns in manner and form following that is to say
that he, the said George Frederick Langille now stands seized of good
and sufficient estate of inheritance. in fee simple of and in the said
lot, piece or parcel of land, with the promise that he hath good right
full power and lawful authority to sell and convey the said lot of land
in manner and form as the same is hereby sold and conveyed or mentioned
or intended so to be and also that the said George Frederick Langille
and his heirs and the said lot of land and premises above granted to the
said William Langille his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims
and demands of all and every person or persons whomsoever will warrant
maintain and forever defend by these presents.

In witness whereof the said parties of the first part have her unto let
their hands and seals at River John aforesaid upon the day and year
first above and before written

Signed sealed and delivered, having been duly and acknowledged in
presence of

Received on the day of the date of the foregoing Indenture from the
therein named William Langill the sum of fifty three pounds,
ten shillings of lawful money of Nova Scotia being in
full the consideration therein mentioned.

Be it remembered that on the first day of July, in the year of the Lord
one thousand and eight hundred and forty one, personally affirmed before me,
Alexander McKenzie,the subscriber one of Her Majesty's Justice of
the Peace for the County of Pictou, Nancy Langille, a party to the
foregoing indenture and wife of George Frederick Langille,
also a party thereto,
who being by me examined separate and apart from her said
husband. acknowledged that the said indenture was by her intended and
that justly and voluntarily without force or confrontation on the part
of the said husband.
