Deed of Benjamin Langill to Lewis Tattrie
Registered 30th May 1844 at 2 o'clock p.m. on the oath of Alexander McKenzie

This Indenture made this eleventh day of April in the year of our Lord,
one thousand, eight hundred and forty-four
between Benjamin Langill of River John, in the County of Pictou, yeoman, in the province of Nova Scotia,
Hannah his wife, of the one part and
Lewis Tattrie of River John in the county and province aforesaid, farmer, of the other part.

Witnesseth that in and for consideration of the sum of sixty pounds current money of the Province
aforesaid to him in hand well and truly paid at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents,
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, doth grant, bargain and sell,
enfeoff, release and confirm by these presents unto the said Lewis Tattrie,
his heirs, executors and administrators and assigns forever,
all that certain lot or parcel of land situate and lying in the settlement of River John
aforesaid being bounded and abutted as follows.

Viz: on the west by the land of James Patriquin,
on the south by David Langill's, on the east by George Prattis
and on the front by the main road containing thirty acres more or less
(for a more particular description reference to the aforesaid Benjamin Langill's deed).

To have and to hold the said land and premises with all the buildings and
improvements thereon or in any wise appertaining thereunto to the said
Lewis Tattrie, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns to his and
their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever and the said Benjamin Langill
against himself, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns and
against all persons whatsoever lawfully claiming the same unto the said
Lewis Tattrie, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns shall and
will warrant and defend by these presents, and the aforesaid Hannah,
wife of the aforesaid Benjamin doth by these presents forever,
quit all claim that she now hath or may hereafter expect to have unto the aforesaid premises
or parcel of land in case of Dower or otherwise with the aforesaid
Lewis Tattrie, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns.

In witness whereof the aforesaid parties doth hereunto their name and seal affirm and fix the day and year first within written.

On the twenty-ninth day of May in the year of our Lord,
one thousand, eight hundred and forty-four before me the subscriber,
one of Her Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Pictou
personally appeared Mrs.Hannah Langill, party to the foregoing deed,
and wife of Benjamin Langill and also a party thereto and being examined by me
separately and apart from her said husband acknowledges that the said Deed
was by her executed for the purposes therein mentioned and set forth and freely and
voluntarily without any force or compulsion from her said husband.

Received from the within named Lewis Tattrie,
the sum of sixty pounds Halifax currency
being the full consideration money to be paid by him to me.
