Benjamin Matatall to Andrew Langill
Registered 19th October 1855 at 1 o'clock on the certificate of Alexander McKenzie, J.P.

This indenture made this eighteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and fifty-four between Benjamin Matatall of River John in the County of Pictou, yeoman, of the one part and Andrew Langill, of River John aforesaid in the County aforesaid, yeoman, of the other part.

I witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of eight pounds of lawful money of Nova Scotia to him in hand paid by the said Andrew Langill at or before the execution of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. He the said Benjamin Matatall hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed and confirmed by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, and confirm unto the said Andrew Langill, his heirs and assigns, all that certain town piece of land situated at River John, in the county of Pictou aforesaid marked No. 2 on a plan of town lots at River John make by John Gould, Deputy Land Surveyor, and is abutted, bounded and described as follows.

Viz: Beginning on the northeast side of Water Street at a stake, the south angle of lot No. 1 on said plan and running hence southeasterly along said Nater Street, fifty-five feet, three inches to the west angle of lot No. 3 on said plan, hence north, forty-five degrees east one hundred and two feet to a stake on the top of the bank of the River John hence westerly along the same fifty-five feet, measured at right angles to the side lines, to the eastern angle of lot No. 1 aforesaid and thence south forty-five degrees, west sixty-one feet to the place of beginning with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances there unto belonging or in anywise appertaining.

To have and to hold the said lot and land premises with the appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof, interest or right or title to Dower of Agnes Matatall, the wife of said Benjamin Matatall in and to said premises to him the said Andrew Langill, his heirs and assigns forever.

In witness whereof the said Benjamin Matatall and Agnes, his wife, have hereunto set their hands and seal the day and year first hereinbefore written.

Received on the day of the date of the foregoing Indenture from the therein named Andrew Langill the sum of eight pounds of lawful money of Nova Scotia being the full consideration therein mentioned to be paid by him to me.
