This Indenture made the twenty-first day of October in the year of our Lord
one thousand, eight hundred and fifty-four between
Thomas Langill of Pointe Bruley in the County of Colchester, farmer,
and Mary, the wife of the said Thomas Langill, of the one part and
Daniel Salisbury of River John, in the County of Pictou, farmer, of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Thomas Langill and Mary, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of sixteen pounds of lawful money of the province of Nova Scotia to them in hand well and truly paid by the said Daniel Salisbury at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Each of them hath and each of them hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, remised, released, enfeoffed and confirmed and by these present do and each of them doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, remise, release, enfeoff and confirm into the said Daniel Salisbury, his heirs and assigns the whole of all that undivided part, share or portions of him, the said Thomas Langill, being the whole part, share or portion of the aforesaid Mary Langill which fell to her after the death of her father, William Salisbury. The whole into seven equal parts, shares or portions lying being situate at Cape John bounded, abutted and described as follows.

Viz: On the north by land belonging to Donald Henderson, on the east by the Gulf of St. Lawrence, on the south by land belonging to John Murphy and on the west by River John Harbour, containing eighteen acres more or less.

To have and to hold the undivided part, share or portion of land and premises with all the buildings therein belonging or in any way appertaining thereto to him the said Daniel Salisbury, his executors, administrators and assigns to his and their only use and benefit and behoof forever and the said Thomas Langill hereby binds himself, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns in the peaceable and quiet possession of the above premises for ever.

In witness whereof the said Thomas Langill and Mary Langill, his wife, have hereunto set their hands and seal. Subscribed and seal fixed the day herein first written.

one of her Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the county of Pictou,
there personally came and appeared Mrs. Mary Langill,
the wife of the said Thomas Langill whose name is subscribed to the foregoing Deed of Indenture who being by me examined acknowledged that she did freely and voluntarily without any compulsion from her said husband sign, seal and execute the foregoing Deed of Indenture for the purposes therein mentioned.
