Frederick A. Crawley to Joseph Langille

This Indenture made the fifteenth day of July in the year of our Lord
one thousand, eight hundred and fifty-two
between Frederick A. Crawley of River John, in the County of Pictou, yeoman, of the one part and Joseph Langille of River John, aforesaid in the County of Pictou, yeoman, of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Frederick A. Crawley for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds of lawful money of Nova Scotia to him in hand paid by the said Joseph Langill at or before the execution of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, convey and confirm unto the said Joseph Langille, his heirs and assigns all that certain lot or piece of land situate lying and being in the settlement of River John in the County of Pictou, aforesaid abutted and described as follows.

Viz: Beginning on the west boundary line of a lot of lands granted to James Langill, Senior, at the southeast angle of Solomon Langille's farm lot and running thence south along said boundary line thirty-eight chains to a hemlock tree, the northeast angle of a lot of land granted to John Gould thence west on said last mentioned lot seven chains and ninety links to a spruce tree thence north thirty-eight chains to a stake on the south boundary line of Solomon Langille's lot aforementioned and then east along said boundary line seven chains and ninety links to the place of beginning containing thirty acres more or less with all and singular privileges and appurtenances to the said lot or piece of land belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revisions and remainders, rent, issues and profits thereof and also all the right, title, interest, property claims and demands whatsoever both at law and in equity of him the said Frederick A. Crawley in, to, out of and upon the same or any part or parcel thereof.

To have and to hold the said lot of land and premises with the appurtenances, hereinbefore sold and conveyed and every part and parcel thereof unto him the said Joseph Langill, his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof for ever. And the said Frederick A. Crawley for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators doth hereby covenant with the said Joseph Langille, his heirs and assigns as follows.

Viz - that he the said Frederick C. Crawley and his heirs, the premises herein before sold and conveyed and every part and parcel thereof together with the appurtenances unto him the said Joseph Langille and his heirs and assigns again the lawful claims and demands of all and every person and persons whomsoever will warrant, maintain and for ever defend by these presents.

In witness whereof the said Frederick A. Crawley hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year hereinbefore first written.

Received on the day of the date of the foregoing Deed of Indenture from the herein named Joseph Langille, the sum of thirty pounds of lawful money of Nova Scotia being in full consideration therein mentioned to be paid by him to me.
